Dr. Liza E. Offreda is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Disability Studies Program at Georgetown University.
She teaches Introduction to Disability Studies, Deaf Culture and Literature, and Disability and Sports, focusing on how disability and Deaf experiences are represented in literature, culture, and sport. A former head women’s soccer coach, senior woman administrator, and Title IX Coordinator at Gallaudet University, Offreda brings a passion for athletics and education to her work both inside and outside the classroom.
She competed internationally with the USA Deaf Women’s Soccer team for over a decade, earning four gold medals and international recognition for her achievements. She currently serves as vice president of the USA Deaf Sports Federation and coaches youth soccer with Juventus Academy DC Metro. Offreda completed her undergraduate studies at Montclair State University, obtained her master’s from Gallaudet University, and earned her doctorate from Northeastern University.
