DS Faculty Grant Project: “Early Intervention for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities in Turkiye”
DS Faculty Toby Long and Sylvia Önder have received a Georgetown Global Engagement Grant to do a workshop in Turkey called “Early Intervention for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities in Turkiye”. The workshop will be conducted in cooperation with Aysun Yarali, Georgetown’s first-ever DS Visiting Faculty during the 2021-2022 school year, at her home institution in Mersin, adjacent to the February earthquake zone.
In conjunction with this workshop, Sylvia created a GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-children-with-disabilities-in-turkey so that she can take donations directly to those who are doing the best work in the realm of children with disabilities. As winter approaches, many of the families in the affected area are still living in tents and government services have not yet reached the needed levels. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
Dr. Long and Dr. Önder will be traveling to Turkey the week of Thanksgiving. For more information, see the brochure below.
